The Associated Students of College of the Redwoods will present a series of visiting speakers in December on the topic of resistance movements around the world.

The first talk is titled Defend The Rojava Revolution with visiting speaker Debbie Bookchin onThursday December 12th at 4pm in the CR Eureka主校区CR行政大楼108室. Debbie Bookchin, 最近从库尔德人领导的Rojava自治区返回, will talk about the history of Rojava, why it is critical to defend this feminist, ecological, democratic project from the ongoing onslaught by Turkey and its jihadi allies and the Syrian regime. Bookchin will discuss how ideas of social ecology have influenced the Kurdish freedom movement and why Rojava project is relevant today.

Debbie Bookchin is a long time journalist and author who has won awards for her news feature and investigative reporting. 她曾为包括《皇冠365官方app》在内的多家出版物报道和撰写文章。, The Atlantic, the New York Review of Books, and The Nation. Levine, a practicing clinical psychologist, writes and speaks widely on how society, culture, politics and psychology intersect. His latest book is Resisting Illegitimate Authority: A Thinking Person’s Guide to Being an Anti-Authoritarian-Strategies, Tools, and Models (2018).

In this fifty minute talk, Dr. 莱文将定义威权主义和反威权主义, and he will discuss definition controversies.
